26 weeks, 3 weeks behind in growth, dr's concerned.
My baby is now 26 weeks, but measures 23, the Dr.'s are very concerned and have brought up the possibility of having a skeletal disorder(dwarf) because she is behind on growth, we did an amnio and also blood tests which all came back fine. They have also not found any other abnormalities.
    Is this something normal?
My wife is 5'1 and 118lbs, she was a small baby as well.

Any help would be much appreciated.

If the amnio came back fine then there should be little worries.

It may be possible that her dates are incorrect. She may actually be only 23 weeks rather than 26.

Ultrasound measurements are strictly a guideline and should not always be cause for serious concern. Your wife may just have a small baby.

Does your wife smoke? Drink? Caffeine?

Were they still concerned after the amnio, or was it primarily before the amnio?

They were concerned before the amnio. But the results came back with no issues.

Oh, they're still concerned after the amnio as well, they mentioned the weight and the bone sizes, meaning overall growth. Apprently she is 3 weeks beind.

Hi I have a ten month old son and when I was pregnant with him I was back and forth from the hospital having growth scans as his head seemed too small for his gestation.
They also said that he measured at 30 weeks even though I was 35 weeks.
When I gasve birth a week overdue he weighed 6lb 6oz and they then said he was born at 39 weeks. So please don't be to worried as I myself weigh 8 stone and I am 5ft 5.
I think my baby was a good weight considering they assumed I was 30 weeks when in fact I was 34.
I hope everything works out all right for you.xx
