What to do after credit judgement is received?
Today I received a judgment against me for a credit card I was suckered into applying for my first semester in college. Original crdeit line of $500 is now over $2000. I have very little knowledge of what exactly a judgement means and what to do. Please HELP!! Where do I go from here?

    Thank you!

It means that you owed a debt on the credit card and the credit card company, being unable to collect from you any other way, took you to court and won a judgement against you saying that you are responsible for paying back this debt. Were you ever served with a summons or a notice to appear? If not then you could file a motion to vacate the judgement based on failure to serve proper notice. Of course, if the debt is legitimate and the credit card company can prove that it is, then they'll just take you back to court and get a new judgement against you. But now that they have a judgement against you, they have a right to collect from you using any and all means available, including but not limited to wage withholding, freezing your bank accounts or any assets, placing liens against any real assets you may own, intercepting your tax refunds, etc.
