For non-turbo model only:

1. Disconnect battery cables.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Disconnect starter motor electrical connectors.
4. Remove starter motor bolts and starter motor from vehicle. On some models equipped with automatic transmissions, remove starter motor bracket, bolts and starter motor from vehicle.
5. Reverse procedure to install. Clean the battery posts and cable ends before reinstalling.

My 1989 mazda 626 has a continuous tapping sound when its running. What's the possible problem?

The valves may need adjusting.
