Changing job - SUI & Social Security
Hi, I recently changed job in CA. In my previous job, I reached the S.S. yr. limit and CA SUI / SDI limit. However, in my new job, they continue to deduct the S.S. and SUI / SDI taxes. Can I get a refund for overpayment or stop paying now? Thank you.

You get the refund when you file your income taxes for 2007. There's a line on Schedule 1040 or 1040A where you report excess social securuty tax that were withheld as a credit. Here is some more info from the IRS on this topic:

I believe you can request a SUI/SDI refund from Cal;ifornia as well.
