    Camilla Lucas Pirate Ship Pic
    Hi,

I am trying to get some information/idea of value of what appears to be a pencil drawing with blue water color of 2 tall ships. The markings on the painting are:

    copyright 1838 Camilla Lucas, NY-USA

bottom left has triangle w S.76 (?) and the name noilius Hoollandoes (SPL)

On the right below the picture is a pencil drawing of what I believe to be a pirate's/man
face and signed B. Meaniel or it could be B. Mcaill. I really can't determine the name

If you have any idea of who the artists is or the value I would appreciate hearing from
    you.

    Thanks, Jane

The response from scriptor-ga is very insightful.

Basically PES was set up by Sidney Z. Lucas, hence the SZL mark. He owned a printshop in New York in the years 1940 to 1960 where He
produced a large number of prints after old etchings.
Generally, prints by Mr. Lucas seem not to reach very high prices.
At the end of the day they look nice, but that's about it.
Most of what is talked about them is from people "boiler rooming" the price on the supposed French history.

    I hope this helps.
