The stray cat under my house won't leave
I had some work done to my house recently and one of the contracters left the side entrance that goes underneath my house open. I now have a cat under there that refuses to leave. We re-opened the side entrance and even the small vent under the house to give him/her the opportunity to get out but all that did was give the cat free reign to come and go and they please. We never heard the cat during the day, only at night, meowing like crazy, now it's day and night. We thought maybe she was stuck so we went under the house when we knew she was under there but didn't see her, she was hiding. Now we thought maybe she was in heat or already pregnant and going to have her kittens but it's been 3 weeks and no sign of kittens meowing or another cat down there with her/him. We even tried closing all the entrances for two days, that would drive the cat out when we finally did open up but no dice. We borrowed a cat trap (not one that would hurt her) from an organization that rescues felines and she hasn't fallen for it. What else can I do? Her meowing is waking up my kids at night, not fun! Help... any suggestions would be appreciated.
