Hooking a Wet Bar in the Basement
I would like to install a wet bar in my basement. The wet bar sink will be located within a couple feet or so from a black PVC drain pipe which has a cap and a square bolt at the bottom. That drain pipe runs upward through the house and the kitchen sink upstairs drains into that pipe.

My question is: Is it possible and allowed by code to hook the wet bar sink into that drain pipe?

    Thanks in advance

The cap with a square bolt is a clean-out. The inspector may not be very pleased but unless your kitchen sink has a "S" trap and isn't vented you may cut in a sanitary tee 18" from the floor to the center of it and use the kitchen drain as a wet vent for your bar sink. Good luck on your project. Tom
