    Shower install
I am replacing a garden tub and putting in a shower by Onyxtop 60x42, I know that I need to cut the slab to put in a new drain from the center of the shower base to connect to the drain from the tub setup, do I need to run a vent line also?

No! Your shower will use the same vent as the tub that you're replacing. Good luck on your project. Tom

Thanks, I'll let you know, I am also using the WingTite drain replacement, we'll see how it goes.

Well, I have finally got everything together, the WingTite replacement drain really works, I thought it was a little expensive to start with but the time it saved more than covered that expense. I did find out that if you are replacing a tub with a shower you do need to put in a vent line, the tub vent is in the overflow and with the shower you don't have that. As for now everything is working fine.

Too bad we did not know what you were doing earlier on when you were burying your pan. I have replaced many tubs with a shower and order retro fit pans that have drains that fit the old tub drain. It has really cut down on the time/cost of replacements for me.
