After finishing repiping a water system with copper tubing, could the new repiped system be tested for water leaks without being connected to the water line?

Don't forget to sanitize that new system. Yes, you should and can test the system by connecting a pressure gauge and pumping the line up to about 50 lbs. It should hold all 50 for a day.
