    Venting the kitchen
Everything in my house is within 14ft (main bathroom, 1/2 bath and washing machine) of the main waste/vent stack except for the kitchen sink and dishwasher. If I'm correctly understanding the book I have we can use 2" wet and auxiliary venting to connect this group to the main stack. My main concern is the kitchen because it is 28ft from the main waste/vent stack. I would prefer it to run horizontal through the attic and connect to the stack if it is OK. That would mean only one hole in the roof to contend with.

Thanks for all of the help you guys give so freely. From what I have seen you never make anyone feel foolish for any question asked. I for one appreciate that but I'll bet there are times when you roll your eyes or snicker a bit at some of us. :)

If there is we'll never let you know about it.
What you wish to do with the kitchen vent is called "reventing" and is perfectly acceptable. Good luck, Tom

Thanks! This will make the Mr. happy that we don't have to have another hole in the roof even if it does cost more to run the vent that far.

"we'll never let you know about it"... I didn't think you would but I know from dealing with ER patients that there are those days that almost leave you speechless. :)
