I got injured on my job, it was a government job, in 1993 in Hawaii. I went through the paces, got rated, and I am receiving compensation. I was getting a set amount a month, but when I moved here to Las Vegas, in 1996, I got a part time job. My pay was cut in half. The job lasted a few months, but my pay wasn’t put back to what it was. I’m still receiving compensation. I’ve had a few jobs in the past years, but only for a while. They were not permanent jobs, only part time.
QUESTION: Can I get retro-compensation for the years I have not worked?
The government is still paying me monthly. But can I get retro-compensation for the years my pay wasn’t returned to the normal status? I recently asked a local lawyer, and was told I had to get a lawyer from Hawaii, because the injury was in Hawaii.
QUESTION: Do I have to get a lawyer from Hawaii or can I get a Nevada Lawyer?
Is there any other advice you can give me? Thank You.
