This truck has idled funny ever since I bought it it had 125,000+ miles on it its got 145,000+now from my experience I know the tbi which was gms first try at fuel injection in the pickups wasn't the greatest my 1987 chevy silverado and my 89 gmc suburban never idled as bad as the 1995 does ithink 800 rpms is about the sitting still idle well if it sits and runs a few minutes it drops drastically the worst thing is the 87 was pieced together lol I'm curious as to what might be something I haven checked or I don't know about to be replaced thanks again you CHEVY FOR LIFE

    . Check for codes.
    . Check for vacuum leaks.
    . Check EGR Valve.
. Check/replace the coil--AutoZone will test for free.

Look into how to set the idle rpm. It may be similar to the link below. Regardless, it may give you some ideas.

You may need a thorough injector cleaning. I own a '95 Silverado and the only thing drivability I've needed to replace is the TPS due to a slight heitation/stumble, and the EGR due to a CEL: DTC 32. You can inspect the TB gasket: remove the air cleaner and hold the throttle fully open while looking down the throttle bore. If the throttlebody gasket is out of place you will see it protrude into the venturi. Replace as necessary.

Take a small screwdriver and dig the seal out. Then, you can disconnect the IAC Valve and set idle speed to spec.
