I have a new maytag dishwasher and used it 4 times. There is a terrible odor coming from it after I use it and open it up. I will try vinigar today. This never happened with my old dishwasher. Should I do something or call for repair?

REmove to lower drawer and inspect the screen on the drain. You may have some rotting food caught in the screen. Skip the vinegar for now and run a cycle with just baking soda rather than detergent.

If this is new, Are you sure all the packing was removed?

Another thought to explore, how was the drain connected to your plumbing? Did you use an air gap, big loop in the drain hose or just tied into an existing drain pipe?
