Me and my son ssi check at tax time
I have a son that get ssi,
He just turn 18 this past sept 16, 2007
He lived with me till he turn 18,
I haven't reported this to ssi , cause we were waiting to see if this was going to last with him out on his own, he has moved in with his cousin. And has been there for 2 months now.
But before that there was 8 months that he lived with me. This year. Last year he was with me.
We live in virginia, so does anyone out there know anything about this for real?

What do I need to do?
Do I claim him from last year and his ssi on my taxes?
Will ssi send me something like a w2 form for his ssi earning?
He gets 623.00 a mo. That's 7,476.00 for last year

You don't have to claim SSI on your taxes( that is not taxable income). If he lived with you for more than 6 months yes, you can claim him.
