    Moving a cast iron bathtub
I have elected to save the cast iron bathtub instead of replacing it. I need to remove the old drain. Is there any suggestion as to how to move this tub out of the way to do this work? Is there some sort of machine that will lift this 600lb tub out of the way? :

Brute force is the only answer, hope you have room wrestle it around...

I thought of using blocking and bars to raise it --Maybe take (4) small pieces

of 2x4 and use a circle saw to drill hole (half way through wood and bust out

piece) big enough for legs to set in and slide on to protect the floor... Other

thoughts ( raise it where it sets (straight up ) and secure it while preforming

job, then lower back into place... Raise one end being careful not to damage

floor, perform needed repairs and lower back into place... When I had, a big

heavy concrete deep sink, in my basement to move -- I used big C clamps to

hold a come alongs to rafters and chains wrapped around sink --- made the

job easier, and no injuries... :) :)
