Does the child support agency have all the information on him that would be necessary about him in order for them to collect support? If you live in the U.S. like his social security number, where he works and lives, etc.
Do you know where he works? They can garnish his salary. There are also support groups that you can try and contact.
Yes they do have all his information, I also call and give them the updates. He has a busniess.
So is he currently paying monthly child support?
My daughters father has back child support, he just has to pay a certain amount over the order child support until the arreage is caught up.
If he is paying monthly, you can request a hearing to get the amount he pays towards the arreage raised.
If his is not paying child support at all, you need to call child support... if you don't get anywhere with your case worker ask to speak to their supervisor (that always gets someone to do something). He can be held in contempt of a child support order.

No he is not paying monthly, last time he paid was in June.
The only number I have of any case worker is they 800 number of child support.

There are other things that child support can do when the father is not paying child support. (at least in Ohio). My daughters father has had his drivers license suspended multiple times for non payment... and it stays suspended until payments start coming in. Then if there is a history of non payment, child support has a litigation team that will take him to court to hold him in contempt. Once child support gets to a certain amount of arreages, the non payer can be ordered to serve jail time.
Did you talk to a supervisor when you went down or just someone at the front desk?
If it was someone other than a supervisor, they will do anything to get you to take care of it on your own. You have to be PERSISTENT and DEMANDING.
There is also an organization that will help you get your owed child support (it may be the one that was listed above). They take a percentage of the child support for their "fee", but sometimes something is better than nothing.
Are you having to file a petition because he moved from one state to another? I ask this because I know that is what my ex had to do when I moved for the child support agency to even collect child support from me. It had to be made official through the courts in some way in order for them to even collect it from me in the state where I live.Quote:
