I give up my parental right 7 years ago. I just received my check and child support is taking out money, my son's mom put me on child support. I live in Florida isn't that against the law?

If you gave up all right then you aren't liable to my understanding to pat anything.

Did you legally reliquish your parental rights?
If so, was it so the child could be adopted?

If the child was not adopted, reliquishing your rights does not stop child support. Until the child is adopted, you will still be held responsible for supporting the child.

You may have given up your "rights' but you can't get out of your responsibility to pay child support unless someone else adopts the child. If you thought that giving up your rights meant no more child support then you were mislead.

Sorry for the one wrong answer, but many people have a bad misunderstanding of this.

If you merely give up your rights, you are just giving up rights to visit, rights to call the child, to have the child over for their birthday and so on. It does not give up your obligation to pay child support, and they may ask you for child support anyway, this is very normal and common, read the 1000's of posts we have on here by now.

The only way giving up your rights stop child support is if a new partner adopts the child.
So now you get to pay and not see the child
