    Windows XP Scandisc
OK, my system sometimes locks up while playing games, and every time this happens, windows insists on scanning the drive. It says "Press any key to skip this", although when I press a key nothing happens, then it starts the scan which can take a while. How do I turn this feature off? Thanks.

Do not diasble are cancel scan disk, it's there for a reason and a good 1. It physically scans your hard drive to see if it is damaged and needs repairing. If your PC is freezing up, it could just need a defrag, if you've never done this your PC will be slow as, you could have sum bots & or Virus's.

Scan you PC to make sure and REMEMBER to DEFRAG!!
