    Concrete Slab over Slab
I have a house built on a concrete slab. I would like to add radiant heating to the ground floor and want to encase the PEX tubing in a new layer of concrete on top of the existing slab.

If I use 7/8 PEX, how thick do I need to pour the new slab?

Also what kind of concrete specifications do I need to give the concrete vendor to ensure that the slabs adhere to one another and work for the radiant heat system?

Why even bother with adding mortar or concrete. You already have a slab base for adding NU-Floor heating vinyl flooring for a radiant heating system. Check it out on the internet. Nm
