:confused: Could you tell me how to add a flying gable (Cath. Ceilings) to an existing ranch house? We are being told that it cannot happen and we would like pictures of someone that has done it and also some suggestions!

Anything can be done, let there no mistake there, the person you talked to probably didn't know how to do it or they just didn't want to do it,
A lot depends on which way you rafter are running, because the ceiling will be vaulted the same way, also in you house you would have to use some sort of truss or build trusses to support the roof load.

It is possible but it wouldn't be very cheap at all.
