    STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL

    Greetings,

RE: ASSISTANCE AS NEXT OF KIN IN THE ESTATE OF
    MR.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx(DECEASED)

I am Dr. A.D. solicitor to the above referred
deceased person. I am soliciting your assistance to
act next of kin to my deceased client in a transaction
involving US$41.500.000.00 (Fourty one million five
    hundred thousand united state dollars).

My client was involved in a ghastly motor accident on
2nd of September, 2002he died along with his wifeand
children and allattempt to search for the next of kin
has provedabortive since he did not declare any next
of kin in deposit document at the bank. Therefore, he
    died
intestate. Now the bank is requesting that as his
lawyer I should present a nextof kin immediately
otherwise the money will forfeitted to the government
because under our law if no claim is made by a next
kin to the estate of deceased personfor five years the
propoerty will revert to the government and I do not
want this to happen. Hence, Iam soliciting your
    assistance.

In my search for a suitable partner for this
    transaction I discovered your contact.
Much as you are a foreigner,
you will suitably fit in as next of kin to his estate.
It is because you are a foreigner
that I am seeking your permision to present you as his
    next of kin.

Should you agree to be presented as next of kin to the
deceased, I am willing to compensate you with 25% of
the $41,500,000.00 us dollars (Fourty-one million five
hundred thousand united state dollars) which
translates to US$10,375,000.00 us dollars. In short
your benefit for collaborating with me will be
    $10,375,000.00 us dollars.

If you're Interested in partnerring me in this
transaction kindly send me your complete names,
address, telephone and fax numbers plus any other
detail that shows your ability to handle a transaction
of this magnitude. Feel free to call me on my
    confidential number xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxor email me
    through my private email (xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx)
As regards the nature of this transaction I want you
to keep ultmost confidentiality in this transaction
and there should be know third party involvement.

Thank you for the anticipated positive consideration
    of this proposal.

    Your faithfully,

    Dr. A.D..

Fantasy likely was the correct forum for that. I guess the next communication will ask for your bank account number, SS, etc. or a deposit to show good faith. Sad thing is that people have bit on these things. I have forwarded similar emails to [email protected].

Danger! Never Respond To These Type Of Emails!!
I thought I had posted this in "entertainment-comedy", now that I have reread it, though, my feelings are changed  and it is not quite so funny... perhaps I should have posted this in a "Crime" section! Labman - thank you for the address you sent. Would you please tell me - what it is? As I am in Canada - would it still be recommendable for me to report this email over there? It frightens me to think that someone is attempting to perhaps steal my identity... I thought that I was very careful while on the internet - but this email is a "message" to me to be even more careful! It is quite frightening. THANKS for your help, again!

The ftc is the Federal Trade Commission, part of the government of the USA. They collect fraudulent internet scams and have prosecuted a few people, severely slapping their wrists. I propose bring back public stoning. Each person receiving spam or a virus is entitled to throw one stone for each copy.

    F.T.C... in Canada?
Hi am very interested in reporting this, and wonder if I can, as I am a Canadian? Is it only for Americans?

I met a guy a couple of years ago who had the same email. I think he believed it and was going to go through with the email instructions. Not sure of the outcome, since he was only a friend of a friend and I never saw him again.
