Hello, I am going out off town next weekend however I am also due for my period around then. I have read many blogs suggesting to continue taking your pills but I'm not currently on birth control. I have a pack now but I don't know if it will ensure me not having my period next weekend, should I still take them and if so how? I have also been told takig several at a time wll help to with slight side effects, what should I do

Usually you start your pills after your last period.

There is no way to delay or stall your period without medical intervention or pregnancy. Just be prepared for your weekend away.
