    Compulsive Eating Disorder
I'm really insecure about my body (I'm 5'3 and 170lbs). I have a compulsive eating disorder and I eat whenever I'm sad/upset and I'm frequently sad/upset about the way I look. So I gain more weight, feel more insecure about myself, and then eat more. It's this never ending cycle. I don't know to control it. It hurts sooooo much.

Do you have anyone who you can confide in your reality? Do you have a counselor at school who you could talk to?

I know how you feel. I've struggled with my weight my entire life. I used to eat out of control anytime I felt depressed or sad or humiliated by my body. I finally got to a point where I was so tired of feeling I had no control over my eating habits that I decided to start exercising whenever I felt upset, depressed or bad about my body. I have to say it worked pretty well. Now when I'm stressed or feeling upset or sad I want to go workout. If I can't I get even madder. Sometimes I do slip back in and befriend a bag of chips but the way I feel afterwards its so awful that it doesn't feel worth it to me to do that anymore.

I also found that the more I worked out the more I wanted to do healthy things for my body and make the right food choices and eat as good as I can. I don't restrict myself from anything if I want a slice a cake I have it but I have a small slice and stop at one. On a day to day basis when I want something sweet (I have an insane sweet tooth) I eat the desert flavored Yoplait yogurts (they Boston Cream Pie and its unreal seriously). You will also find out that the more you exercise the better you will feel about yourself. I worked out with a trainer for about 6 months. I credit her with giving me self esteem. Anytime I thought I couldn't do something she would make me and then have me do it again. She did so much for me. Anyone can benefit from it. She would even train kids and teenagers who had weight issues.

I am over weight but I'm losing weight. I love to eat and still do but I manage to lose weight. What I did was to eat low calorie foods.

I found that I lost the most weight giving up soda which I drank A LOT. I replaced it with sweet tea its like crystallite but it's a Walmart brand. It may not be as tasty at first but you will start to get addicted to it. It helps a lot and it took over the addiction of my soda.

I work out once every 2 days and play sports which helps a lot. Also do not eat less it makes things worse just try to eat sparingly through out the day, but try to avoid eating large portions of food at one time but don't starve yourself.

You will eventually stop and you will notice weight loss. But you need to be committed to doing this. Its not easy losing weight.

You are not the only one as you can see from the above posts.
There are so many struggling like you...

I hope you will think of the suggestions given by GlindaofOz and man909.

I think Glinda's suggestion is a very good idea(tested and tried be her) to break the cycle you are in.
