I had an abortion 7 weeks ago. Since then I did not get my period. I continue to take pregnancy tests and they come up negetive.I am worried why my period has not come yet. Since my tests are negative does that mean that the abortion was successful? Please give me any info you can thanks a lot.

It takes time after an abortion for your bodies hcg (the pregnancy hormones) to drop. Your body is adjusting and it will take time for it to get back down to zero thus allowing you to ovulate and have a period.

Do you go for your follow up after the procedure to make sure everything was okay? If you are very worried I would suggest making an appointment with your doctor to make sure everything is okay and for them to pull blood to see where your hcg levels are at.

If you had your abortion done at a good facility there is slim chance that the procedure was a failure.
