Central air and heat not working?
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi, I know absolutely nothing about my appliances and all that "stuff" that's in the little room...
I just bought a house, I've been here for about 1 1/2 months. I have central air/heat, gas appliances, gas water heater, etc... but I don't know which machine does what. The AC and heat were working fine for the past month and half, and yesterday I went to turn the sc on cause it was hot and it won't turn on, neither will the heat. But my hot water works, the stove works - gas and the dryer - gas- all work. Like I said, I'm not sure what does what, but its not working...

I should mention - my washer broke about 2 weeks ago and water was leaking out of it - - I cought it and stopped the leak before it touched the "machines" but some water might have gotten into it. But the ac worked fine for about 1 1/2 weeks or 2 after the spill...

Also, I should mention that I am assuming the ac system is the same system as when the house was built in 1995 I believe - so its about 12 years old.

All this to say - what do I need to do?
    Can it be water damage?
    Is it just old?
Is it as simple as flicking a switch I don't know about?

I can decorate the hell out of a house - but I'm usless with the internal stuff...

Also, is this going to cost me a fortune??

    Any help will be appreciated

It could be costly or cheap depending upon exactly what is wrong. You said it yourself you know nothing about how all this works. My recommendation is to get a qualified person on site to look over your problems and explain the situation. Anything else is guess work on my part.

My heat and air conditioner work, in some of my rooms in my home. The bedrooms upstairs do not have any sort of noticiable air flow. The bathrooms upstairs have air flow. But not the rooms. Downstairs dining room, kitchen and part of the living room have air flow. I lifted the vent to see if any debris was blocking flow, and I could not see anything. What is causing this?
