    Crossing electrical with television
I've been told that you shouldn't run an electrical circuit next to A/V wiring or network wiring because of interference. Does this only mean they shouldn't run side by side, or does it also mean they can't cross paths at all? If so, how do you solve this when running both the electrical and A/V wiring in a basement? Is there some type of way to shield one or the other so they don't interfere with each other?

Data, telephone, signal cable should be at least 2 inches away from electrical power lines the length of cable, 6 inches from nonmetallic cables such as Romex. Should cross at 90 degrees.
