    Phishing Filter
When it takes IE while to load a web page, it seems that a "Phishing Filter" I have at the bottom of my screen is working (green line back and forth). Is it likely that it is the filter that is slowing the browser, or is the page itself slow for reasons unconnected with the filter? If it's the filter should I disable it? The filter seems to be part of IE (whatever version came with Vista HP). Thanks in advance.

The filter shouldn't really slow you down that much, and it's a good tool to help increase your security. I'd say leave it on, I've never really had any problems with it slowing anything down.

Yeah it's also nice if you for some reason don't pay attention to a link and it will warn you when you go to a fake site especially if this site could contain information that would be valuable to someone else. IE Ebay or Paypal

The best phishing filter is a good quality Tin Foil Hat and Paranoid mode fully engaged ;)

I think a more important question is, Army helmet style or pirate hat style?
