Can a judgement be made without my knowledge?
I have an Ex who agreed to pay off a credit card that he mostly used if I handled everything else. Well he didn't and now 6 years later I get a threating letter to sue me by someone who bought the account. I tried to find out the original account info. They did not have it. I contacted the original account... they didn't have it. Found out about the SOL.They sent me a summons to my house where I have lived for 4 years and I responded in the appropriate amount of time with the appropriate letter and did not hear any thing else. That was November 2006. Now I have received a letter from the Recovery group lawyers (defendants copy) for summons of continuing garnishment. It has not been filed or signed by anyone in the court here. My question is can they of had a court date and found judgment against me without my knowledge? Will it never end!

If they had set a court date, you should have been notified. You would have had to have been served papers by either the county sheriff or a police officer from your city. Those papers would have stated clearly when and what time the hearing was.

If you never received a summons for a court date, you can appeal the ruling for garnishment. It almost sounds like you received the summons to appear in court and you sent a letter instead. I hope for your sake this isn't true because if you missed the court date, the plaintiff will have won by default and they're allowed to garnish your wages.
