    Check garnishment
Can my employer garnish past tuition reimbursement if I voluntarily leave employment in the state of Texas?

What is your companies policy regarding this? In the majority of workplaces you usually sign a contract or some sort of agreement when the company provides tuition reimbursement. The standard agreement is usually that you will stay for anywhere from 1-3 years after the degree is completed and there is usually a statement to the effect that if you breach the contract you will have to pay back the tuition.

The policy is you have to pay back if you voluntarily leave 1-2 yrs after the last class you received reimbursement for.

Have you already left or are you thinking about leaving?

I guess you can call it a garnishment if you wish, but you basically give them permission to withhold it from your pay if you quit.
