I have been dating my boyfriend for four years, and we have lived together for one year. He makes a lot of money, and has always been financially responsible. He is very business-minded, and is always trying to come up with the most efficient way to make money. Recently, he and a friend of his have decided that a "genius" (their word) way to make money would be to own a strip club. I grew up in a household that was not necessarily religious, but quite spiritual and moral... I know that many people have no problem with strip clubs, but I don't care for them, personally. I have been to men and women strip clubs out of pure curiosity as to what goes on, and it is just something that I'd rather keep out of my life. I understand men like to go, and "just look don't touch" is probably the best case scenario that I could possibly ask for from a man. I have expressed this very openly with my boyfriend, but he has stressed to me that owning a strip club is a very real possibility in his mind. I know I couldn't handle it... just curious as to others' opinion on the topic... :confused:

A couple of things come to mind on this subject.

First is... you've been in this relationship for a while now. But you don't appear to trust him. That's too bad.

Secondly, how and where he makes his paycheck shouldn't be a factor. What if he was a ( insert any of hundreds of different jobs here ) and made minimum wage...

I think unless he's given you a real reason to be concerned, you shouldn't worry or try tell him what he can or cannot do. If he's a true entrepreneur, he won't mix business with socializing.

Hey you know what I have a couple of things I have to say and that's it.
I am a single and independent female, it does not bother me that men go to strip clubs, I would never be with one that goes mind you and this is why. I have heard the thousands of reasons as to why women become strippers, but I have also heard and seen the millions of women that have succeeded in life by not being one. Its curiousity to want to see what it is and why the big hoopla. Men ask us to accommodate them by understanding why they go if we love them and a lot of women do, regretably sometimes, then we will be OK with it. If a man loves you and I mean loves you with all his heart and he knew you did not find it to reflect empowerment or class or respect for the independent hard working female, such as yourself, then he does not love you, bottom line. It hurts to think that men may not want to give something up to keep us but it reflects how they truly feel and what really matters to them. If you are that number 1 and you are to your family and friends, then he would do anything for you just as you would want to and maybe have tried for him!
