    Maytag washing machine
The other day go to do my wash and it fills then it proceeds and doesn't drain then it rinsed and still no drainage went to spin and no aggiater and then a noise occurred I'm wondering if the machine is finished or should I see if this can be repaired... The noise I'm hearing is like a drill... a cement one...

I have a Maytag washer. I turn the knob to heavy or light wash, it doesn't start. Then I move the knob a little more, it starts... but lately I can't get it to start. It feels like there is a gear in the knob and its not catching.

Could be the load selector is wore out. Open the console and observe the operation of it.

Thanks for your reply I don't think it's that as it doesn't drain etc etc and if I do it manually it still doesn't work...

I have to buy a new one... that is what a repair man told me today.. I just wish I didn't have to... it could be many things its just that 3 things don't work..

No draining aggitating or spin and loud noise that is a prb... something I think that maybe can't be fixed... or woth it.

Did you end up buying a new washer or get it repaired? I am having the same issue.
