I remember a film from my childhood very vaguely. From what I can remember from it it involves the making of simplistic toys. You actually are taken into a factory where they are pressing molds for plastic toys. The movie follows the adventure of one specific toy (its live action), a wind up walking pair of binoculars. In the beginning of the movie we see him be made and then he falls out of the bin that contains the other toys that were made. He goes on a journey. The toy is voiced over with dialogue. On his journey he meets other toys who are in his same situation. Some are owned by kids and humans. From what I can remember he is searching for purpose to his own existence. Towards the end of the film he manages to get himself into a museum with old tin wind up toys displayed in cases. To him, these are his elders. Besides these foggy details I remember nothing else. Please help me realize this blast from the past. It would make my year, for this vague movie is my proverbial "rosebud" (Citizen Kane reference). At least tell me if anyone remembers it so I don't think I am crazy. Thank you for any help.
