I have been trying to get pregnant for 9 months and have been going to my OB about it for the last 4 months. Last month I did the ovulation kit and all of them showed that I was ovulating (I know it's only supposed to be 2 days) so I went to the Dr to check my progesterone and she told me it was very low so the ovulation kit was invalid. So this month I took Clomid 50 mg day 5-9 and started the ovulation kit on day 11. Day 11 and 12 said that I was ovulating, so I thought that it was going to say it every day like last time, so my husband and I did not have intercourse on day 11 or 12. This morning is day 13 and it said I did not ovulate, so it must have worked. Is it too late to have intercourse to get pregnant or did I miss my chance for this month?

Well first off... ovualtion kits only PREDICT that you are going to ovulate. They detect the LH surge that happens right before you ovulate, but they are not designed to tell you that you did in fact release an egg.

Of course the Clomid that you are on, does make you ovulate :) So that's good :)

When you get a positive result on an ovualtion test it means you should ovulate in the next 36 hours. Your egg, if unfertilized, starts breaking down at 12 hours :(

BUT... since the ovulation tests detect the surge BEFORE you ovulate, you may still be able to conceive! So get to it! You are cutting it close!

I agree, you should also be charting your bbt(basal body temperature) in conjecture with your opks. The thing about opk's is that they are not always the most accurate. That is why it's a good idea to use your bbt as well, to help narrow down the exact timing. Also talk to your doctor about helpful tips. Good luck
