    Emotional trauma and anxiety
    My wife has experienced the revelation of an affair, and the recent death of a close friend. Over the last month can't sleep past 3-4 hours even after taking sleeping pills. She is 48 in good health and may be going into menopause now as well. She has one or two OK days and one bad with the anxiety overwhelming her. Is some type of medication appropriate? She feels she is going crazy due to the physical pain attributed to the emotions and loss of sleep. Counseling may help the mental anguish but may not effect the physical. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

    It is possible that menopause is taking the affect. She is stressing herself about the sleep which makes it worse she needs 2 try to sleep with a clear mind. Hot bath or glass of wine

    I think she needs to relax more and take it one day at a time, worrying about things won't solve anything
