    A/C air intake blocked
My A/C wasn't putting out cold air. I checked the outside unit and discovered that a plastic drycleaning bag had been sucked onto the air intake side of the "box" and was totally covering the air intake. I removed the plastic bag and the unit has been working, but I don't think that it is producing really cold air as it was prior to the plastic bag incident. Do you think that my A/C unit has sustained serious damage. By the way, the bag was probably over the air intake for 8-10 hours.

For that period that one thing should not cause a reduction in the temperature of the air coming out.

If you can learn, to within a couple of degrees, the temperature of the air coming out, that'll be what really tells you if you have a problem.

A rule of thumb is that if it's above 70-72 degrees outside, then the air coming out of the A/C unit should 15-20 degrees colder than the outside air.
