I know that genetic selection only results in healthy embryos being implanted into the uterus, but does it also eliminate those embryos whom are 'carriers' of the disease too?
Thank You

I think DNA testing of the donor would eliminate the possibility of the embryo being a carrier.
When someone is a carrier of cystic fibrosis, it doesn't necessarily mean that they are affected by it. And if both parents are carriers of the disease, the baby would have a 1/4 chance of being affected by the disease. I just wanted to know whether the CF screening tests the embryos for being affected, as well as being carriers of the cystic fibrosis gene. :confused:Quote:
