Can a normal pentium mobile processor run on a 478 socket motherboard
I couldn't find anything saying you couldn't. If they are the same socket type, I would guess you could.
The question would be though - why would you want to? Mobile processors are built differently to conserve power etc. This would be wasted in a desktop PC. It would also mean your PC isn't as powerful as it could be.
