My 2 puppies pooping & peeing in crate
Hi, I really don't know what else to do with my 5 month old puppies, they go potty in their crate, my little female does it most of the times, I really don't know how to stop this behavior, they have dinner around 7 and they go several times outside before bedtime, and then they have breakfrast at 6 in the morning... my fiancé and I we have manage to work with our schedules so the puppies don't be alone for long periods, I'm gone in the morning and he stays and I'm back in the afternoon so they spend like 5 o 6 hours by themselves!! And then is when happens

We don't know what to do.. HEEEEEEEEEELP!! :)

I have had good luck with leaving very young puppies 4-5 hours, so at 5 months, I would hope they could go another hour. How big is the crate? It is possible that having less room to move around would reduce activity, extending the time they can go. Crates only need to be big enough stretch out in or turn around. You are feeding a concentrated, meat based chow? The smaller stools should be easier to hold.

In the sticky at https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/dogs/i...tml#post251809 I describe using a grid at first with little puppies. They do a good job keeping them up out of urine from occasional accidents at first. They are much less effective on stools.

How big is the crate area sometimes if it is too big they will use one side to potty on and the other to sleep on... I had the same problem with my beagle but I just had to give her a treat every time she went potty outside and I keep a blanket in their crate now and it has stopped... so I must be doing something right.
