    Bipolar disorder
I starting living with my boyfriend about 4 months ago and his entire personality changed. He never used to get angry over stupid stuff, but now the slightest stuff will set him off and I feel like I am tip toeing around him out of fear that he will get mad, he gets angry over accidents, if I hug or kiss him when he doesn't want it, small stuff. The other day I was putting on my coat and I didn't know he was standing behind me and I accidentally hit him, I immediately went to him and wrapped my arms around him and said I was sorry a number of times and he pushed me away and told me not to touch him, but then the moment someone says something funny, he is back to being the same old cheerful smiling man I love. Could he be bipolar?

Hi. I have the same symptoms. I have been seeing a counselor and my doctor, and there saying I could be bipolar. One minute, ill be happy, then sad and depressed. The doctor gave me zyprexa apo lorazepam. I have taken too much on and it all came to a head, and I even suffered a mild heart attack, so I am under the specialist for that. What coused it is a mixture of things, like stress anxiaty and panic attacks.

Sorry to hear that you are having a rough time! Hard to say if he is bipolar or not. Have there been any recent stressful events in his life lately? Like maybe a move, a new job, a death in the family, anything that might explain the change. Here is a website about bipolar disorder that may help:

I think a trip to the doctor and a counselor are in order. The doctor can help you guys figure out what is going on with him. It could be a mental disorder (which many people have and which is very treatable) or it could simply be stress or even a vitamin deficiency or something crazy! There are lots of different causes for irritability, which is why you need a doctor's help.

I really hope he feels better! In the meantime, seeing a counselor will help both of you and might be worth giving a try. Just encourage him to see a doctor by telling him how much you love him, care for him, and miss his "old self". Good luck!
