    Getting fathers rights tooken away.
My daughter has been with me since the day she was born, which has been 6 years. Her father has nothing to do with her, never pays child support or ever sees her. I refuse to let her go into his environment just because there is drugs use, and it's just not a clean home. I've asked him to sign over his rights but he refuses to do so. My new husband and I have both spoke of him adopting my daughter. Her real father won't do it just to be a pain in the you know what! He would rather keep going to jail. I am tired of going to courts, and doing all this just to get him to pay. What can I do to get his rights tooken away from him, because he is truly unfit.

I would forget it. Getting parental rights involuntarily taken away is a very difficult thing to do.

Instead I would go after him for child support. If you can force him to pay support, he might then voluntarily relinquish rights to get out of paying it. Once your husband adopts, that frees him of child support.

Thanks for the answer, I'll just keep trying to do what I have to do. It stinks that a mother like me has to go in circles with this.
