    Postpartum intercourse
I am 5 weeks and 2 days postpartum, and I just kind of had sex today. I had to be cut and not sure if I tore any, and I had a lot of stiches. I still have slight discharge left, but nt a lot. We took it really slow and he didn't even enter all of the way. It was only for like 2 minutes, and then I was researching it online, and I am now worried I could have caused injury.

This sounds kind of bad but when I was postpartum with my first baby I had sex after only 2 weeks and it resulted in no injury. It did hurt real bad and we had to stop. My real concern is did you use protection because you can ovulate at any time even without having a real period. Although I am not recommending you have sex until after you get the OK from your doc at your 6 week check up you should be fine. If you start to bleed or get pain I would suggest you call your docs office and get it checked out.

You are probably OK, as most women can resume sexual relations after the 6 week checkup, but you really should wait until you get the all clear from your doc before doing it again... I have always found it slightly painful to resume...

Are you breastfeeding? If so, your chances are lower, but I guess there is always a small chance. Good luck.

Not breastfeeding. Was going to give it a shot but changed my mind. Now they think my son has galactosemia so he has to have soy milk anyway. I will wait it out a month or so and check to see if we will be having another addition.
