    Dog intermittenly yelping
    Hi,

I have a 4 1/2 yearold female lab/shep cross who for the last day has been intermittenly yelping like she is in pain. She still has very normal activity and I can poke her and prod her all over with no sensitive spots, in the last two months with no change of diet or exercise she has put on weight and tires extremely earlier than she used to. I know I should take her to the vet, it would just ease my worries a bit if I knew it was something common or not to serious.

Thank you for any insight you might be able to give me.

If she is developing joint pain, the excess weight will only make it worse. Evaluate her as in this link, LongLiveYourDog.com - Life Span Study - Rate Your Dog Have the vet confirm your judgement when you take her in. If to heavy, cut back on the food.

    Labman may be correct.

I don't have any words that will ease your worry. The fact that her normal routine is the same yet she is gaining weight, tires easily, and is yelping intermittently, concerns me. If she were my dog, I would be calling the vet and scheduling a full health check.
