What kind of experience has anyone had with only what they could describe as luck, good or bad luck?

I have been thinking about this... I know everyone says good luck to you when you need it or you think it comes when you win or lose... I know for myself I use the word daily for goodness sakes... but when we really start to think about it...
What happens to us or doesn't happen to us, well, it happens from the choices we make or the choices others make around us... I don't really think about it as luck... I think about it as choice... on what happens in my life... I want good luck though. If this makes any sense at all I will be lucky... LOL

The harder you work, the more luck you'll have.:)

Bad luck: I was in the right place at the wrong time and had a head on collision with a drunk driver. Good luck: the 4 of us in my car lived. The drunk drivers luck on the other hand ran out.

Luck or fate, I don't know, but I met my boyfriend through ICQ (instant messenger prog). I scanned a list of usernames and started talking to one. We have been together 5½ years now and known each other for 8 years. I proposed to him after six months, though we haven't got round to marrying yet, LOL!

I might call that luck cece! LOL Congrats.

I share your ambivalence about the whole notion of luck. The physical world is a rough and tumble place, and the interaction of ours and other's choices and the operation of impersonal physical processes is complex and unpredictable. I don't really believe the oft-repeated notion that "everything happens for a reason", but I do believe that everything that happens has a cause. But whatever happens, we have the power to give it meaning by our choices in response to it. I might even go so far as to say that our (humans') function in the scheme of things is to make meaning wherever we go.

I found a $20 bill on the sidewalk when I was about 8 years old. It was more money than I had ever held in my hand at once until then. I probably haven't felt that lucky since.
