    Fan Control Module/ Transformer
I have a 52" Hampton Bay ceiling fan. We run it on low when the room is occupied. The fan is 90 days old. It melted the fan control module, identified with CBB61 on it and E183963. I went back to Home Depot, they told me Hampton Bay fans routinely melt the module/transformer but Hampton Bay doesn't sell repair parts, there is only a 30 day warranty, they get this same question about 10-12 times a week. We run it about 4 hours a day, or overnight when kids decide to sleep on the sofa.

The module say not to let it get above 70 degrees centigrade. Is there a fire hazard they are not telling us about?

Where can I get a replacement three position controller/transformer? (Black epoxy sealed box)

    Thanks:cool:

Ok, first of all, these fans have a lifetime warranty and Home Depot should have taken it back. But if not, you can call Hampton Bay for a replacement receiver. ALL the information they gave you was incorrect.

Their phone number is in our sticky.

It's not a fire hazard but they do fail often.
