Going around a proxy to get to a website
At my place of employment they use a SmoothWall proxy server to block websites. I am trying to access my Facebook and myspace pages and cannot get to them due to this server. Is there anyway to get around it other than using a web proxy (which SmoothWall also blocks 85% of those I have tried)?

    Thanks,
    Matt

Do you like your job? Are you looking to be fired? Companies have the right to restrict access to websites that are not necessary for business. Most companies that do so, have a policy about computer usage. Violations of that policy can result in termination.

If you think you have a valid reasons for using Facebook and myspace while you are on the job, then take it up with the admins.

It would be unethical for us to help you get fired.

I imagine the reason your employer installed the proxy server is to prevent employees from messing around on myspace while at work.
