    Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan
My husband was changing a burnt out light bulb in our ceiling fan and as he was unscrewing it all the lights went out and we cannot get them to come back on. The fan continues to work. It has a remote and the remote still runs the fan- the LED light still lights up when buttons are hit?? My husband is fairly good with electrical stuff and has had it apart twice and can find nothing wrong(no burnt wires etc). We have checked the battery in the remote, turned the power off and back on. We have not checked the remote transponder with the receiver, but my husband seems to think that since the ceiling fan is responding to the remote that is not the problem.

Do you have any other ideas that we can try?

I would start at the light bulb socket and test for power there first . Then I would just follow the electrical path backwards and see where I lose power.

It's possible you shorted the receiver. Bad idea to change bulbs in a remote fan with the power on, they are very finicky.

    How old is the fan?
