    Kenmore washer
Washer fills up with water fine, but when it's time to spin, it just sounds like the clutch is stuck and you hear just a humming sound. I opened the gear box and found that the main plastic gear was broken apart. Supposedly there is a five year warranty on the gear box, but you have to have them check it themselves. You open it and of course the warranty is void. But, for them to come out I know they will check every part and charge me labor costs which cover the part. You just can't win. Does any one know where I can purchase just the big plastic gear... thanks

Yes I do know the answer, go to a SEARS store that has a parts dept. Have the model & serial #!S with you. If you know if it!s still in warranty , TELL them I got a timer that way once , cost was about half.::""

How much did this end up costing. I can get the part on eBay for about $85 dollars with shipping.

Yes you can either go to sears.com and you can look up the model# or the part# and get a price to buy on line or pick up at the parts department
