I am buying a house this month and wants some help on how to proceed with breaking my lease and not having to pay out of pocket. My lease will expire at the end of December. I am planning to move at the end of September. I was thinking of giving the apartment a 60 days notice advising them that I won't be renew my lease and them see if they can work with my. Keeping in mind they do have my deposit. I need to do this asap. Help!

You can't break your lease without some penalty. If you give them 60 days notice now, you would still be liable for October and November at least. Unless they find a replacement tenant sooner.

You can try to sublet. You can talk to the landlords and see if they will accept a buyout.

If this is a small company or a private person you are leasing from, they may work with you, if this is a large rental company, don't hold your breath.

Basically in most states you will be liable for all rent ( and sometimes keeping utilities on) in the apartment for the remainder of the lease or in some areas till the can rent it.

So, no they don't have to do much except laugh at you and expect that check, but some landlords may, you have nothing to lose in asking
