Can someone help Please I am trying to remember the name of a movie that stars Mel Gibson correct me if I am wrong... it starts with the presidents daughter being kidnapped and taken to what they call hell as California had drifted away from the US and they sent all the criminals there.They also took a computer disc that had the everything needed to turn out all the planets electric and shut the world down.Turns out that the prez's daughter is in on the kidnapping too she set it up with the kidnapper. At the end the Mel? :rolleyes: enters the code and shuts it all down and tells them have fun figuring it all out again or something to that affect lol Thanks!

I remember the movie and even some of the scene's... they're under ground and the huge fans get shut off... I'm not sure it's Mel... Maybe Arnold(?) the "undergrounds" don't want to surrender him...
I've been on IMDb and cannot find it... Aarr!

Could it have been Kurt Russel in Escape from LA? I don't remember the plot, I just remember CA being broken off from the mainland.
