I'm a 13 years,7 months old girl and have got my first period 2 months ago... first time was day 12 in month and lasted 9 days ,second time day 19 the month after (a week late) and lasted 4 days.then stopped a day then came and ended in 7 days ( with a about 3 days in mid no bleeding)... im starting school on the 18th this month and that's very near to my period's time and I'm afraid I get it in class and can't get out or stain my clothes.. can somebody help me out... how can I be safe when I'm still new to it and my cycle isn't regular I have no clue when it will come... thats just frustrating!:mad:

I would wear a panty liner to be safe, or even better a thin pad. Then change it out to something stronger when the time comes. The thin Always pads they make now are just as absorbent as the regular ones, so they should work fine.

Keep supplies either in your bookbag or in your locker (or both!). Wear a panty liner on the day you think you are going to start. That will give you enough protection should you start at school to get to the bathroom before it causes a problem.

So u suggest that I wear the always ultra pads that r wrapped in the pink cover? I've got them

the cover is just a certain style yellow=regular, green=long, orange = overnight I think the pink are scented... I use the thin ones in yellow... but its just personal preference really... Emland is right, it may be easier to just carry the pad in your purse and wear the liner until it actually comes... I am typically heavy on my period, so I tend to wear a thin pad if I think its coming, because a liner won't work for me... but if you aren't that heavy, a liner will do fine.

A liner will not do.. my period is medium-heavy so in an hour or two ill be in a totall mess... besides I may not otice it coming and then it will be a biiig problem :(

I think the liners will help until you can change to the normal pad, which you could carry in your bag to school until your periods end.

Try a thicker liner, there are some thin or thick options in liners.

The others have given you great advice. I would also suggest just going to the restroom whenever you can when you are expecting it. Another tip that helped me, if it is the same way it was when I was in school, was when/if you start to get cramps, have your mom bring some ibuprofen or Midol (or whatever your parents allow you to take) to your school office. She can sign a permission slip, so when you have cramps you can go to the office and they can give you something to help the discomfort.

I can understand that. It is part of being a woman, I'm afraid.

Being perimenapausal myself, I have to take the same tactic. Just be prepared and take notice of the signals you body gives you. I get a backache about 8 hours before I start.

Just wear a pad for when you go to school, try and make a note of when your periods are coming so you can have a rough idea of when the next one is due, it won't be regular at first but it gets better and you can usually tell when they are coming after a few months.

well I've decided on wearing the thin pad everyday at school and keeping an eye out for the signals... and I hope I get it before school that would be great =)

Oye. Just carry some pads in your backpack. Then like they said wear a thin one when you think you might have it. Make sure to carry heavy ones since you said that your's is Meduim-Heavy. That's what I do. Im always worried about it. Once it become more regular you can be better prepared and breathe easier. Oh. Here is what I do also. I Tie a jacket around my waist. That was even if you do have it it won't leak through a jacket,Most of the time. ^_^ Hope that helped. Post back if you still need some help.

Honey don't worry about it so much. Since you haven't had your period for that long, your body will be irregular and that is okay. If you feel like it is around the time that you will be getting it try to wear black pants just in case you do get it during class. And keep an extra pair of pants with you and a plastic bag just to be on the safe side.wear a regular pad just in case you are in the middle of a test and can't leave the classroom or something. Don't worry about wearing pads no body knows but YOU. Take care baby doll

I'm in the same situation. (atleast I can help with this topic even though I have some problems of my own) I'm almost 14 and I still can't predict when I'll get my period and I've had mine for 3 years! Best thing to do is always carry a panty liner or tampon with you in your backpack, locker, or purse (if even carry a purse- because I don't). Also, if you think you've just bled and you have no idea, don't wait. Trust me. Even if I'm not prepared at all I don't bleed through my pants and I'm sure you won't either (especially since you've only had it for two months). Just keep an eye out and the whole cycle should chill out with time.

I could feel when I was on my period. But I would carry a makeup bag with me or leave it in my locker with a pair of panties and period stuff. No wearing light colors will help. But yeah. I would think you would feel it before things started to show up. And don't worry about teachers not letting you go to the bathroom. I would get so pissed off when they wouldn't let me. You have the right to walk out. Trust me. I'm almost positive your mum will back you up if you get intouble for just leaving the class room. I would do it all the time.
